In Memory of Fred Tarran
Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Father-In-Law, Uncle,
Hunter & Best Friend!
Fred's Great Grandfather founded Spencer Idaho on his Mother's side of the family. Fred loved Spencer and spent many summers working and enjoying Spencer. He fished the stream, hunted the hills, napped under Big John (Lone Pine tree) and simply wanted to be in Spencer as much as he could. Fred lived in Provo, Utah where the love of his life, Betty Tarran, still resides. Fred's family held a very nice celebration of Fred's Life this summer 2014 as we buried his ashes in the Spencer cemetery. Fred's sister, Sand McClure resides in Spencer and Fred's Brother Robert has his summer home in Spencer. What a special "Gentle Giant" of a man who loved hunting and fishing and mostly FAMILY! We will all miss Fredric Stephen Tarran. Rest in peace Fred and now you get to hunt and fish the streams in Heaven!!!

Fred married the love of his life, Betty Wilkins on May 6, 1957. He served as an Army National Guardsman and later worked for the Forest Service, Utah State Road Dept., and Columbia Geneva Steel Plant in which he retired at age 50. Fred was able to develop close relationships with family and friends through his various outdoor excursions. He spent many hunting seasons in the Northwest Territories, as well as the Utah Mountains. He felt closest to God when he was enjoying what nature had to offer. His greatest joy was attending the ball games and activities of his grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. During the winter months he enjoyed the warmth of Parker Dam, CA, with his wife and many close friends. His favorite summer destination was Spencer, ID, where he enjoyed large family gatherings.
He will be greatly missed by those around him because of his great influence and kindness he always portrayed. He was a great husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend.
A tribute and celebration of his life, will be Dec. 14, 2013, 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., at Berg's Mortuary, 185 E. Center, Provo, UT. Another celebration of his life was held in July, 2014 in Spencer, Idaho.
